Putting a gloss on a good day...

...following success with Spotted Sandpiper and White Stork earlier in the day, I went for a hat-trick of photogenic birds - the Glossy Ibis at Stanpit Marsh. When I first saw this bird a few weeks ago it was easily flushed, but it soon seemed to settle and is now ridiculously approachable, even tolerating a few passing dogs. Although by now it was raining and the light was poor, the bird's proximity, and it's helpful habit of looking up and standing still occasionally, meant that some sharp images were still possible.
